Wood Floor Business writes a glowing article about the hardwood floors at The Russell

The Russell is a beautiful boutique hotel that has been a staple to the thriving East Nashville community since opening its doors in 2019. What began as a 115-year-old Presbyterian Church ended up as a unique venture that had vendors fighting over who could be a part of the once in a lifetime project. The end result was a work of art that has become one of Nashville’s most sought after boutique stays.

A modern interior design featuring art on the walls, tiled floors, and a detailed ceiling is showcased in the building's house room.

Last January, Textures had the pleasure of designing a one of a kind herringbone floor that blended tile and wood beautifully together in the lobby of the hotel. The flooring creation that was orchestrated by owner Andrew Denny was received phenomenally by The Russell owners, and thus Textures was signed onto the miraculous remodel. After 2 weeks of hard work in April 2019, the lobby and each of the boutique hotel’s rooms were finally completed.

Ever since the grand opening of The Russell last June, the hotel has been praised for its originality, beauty and unique design. One thing that consistently has both customers and building professionals impressed is the seamless marrying of the engineered white oak herringbone and muted pastel tile. So much so, that this April, exactly one year after the installation of the hardwood floors, Wood Floor Business wrote an article regarding the extravagant project. They interviewed our very own Director of Operations and flooring specialist, Rob Sutherland, as Rob recounts the job and shares some fun insight with WFB.

Want to know more about the project and what Wood Floor Business had to say about the completed product?

“Just the way that it ties in with that tile is pretty special. Everyone loves it.”
